Do I have to join a team to participate?
No. You do not need to join a team to participate. However, we do offer prizes for the largest team and the largest fundraising team.
Do I get a t-shirt?
Yes. All participants who are registered by the guarantee shirt date, September 18, 2016 @ 11:59 p.m., will receive a Survivor Made Race Tek shirt.
I signed up, but now I won’t be able to run. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we are unable to give refunds.
Is my registration fee tax deductible?
No. Your registration is not tax deductible, but your contributions/donations are tax deductible. Tax ID #27-4594317
Who can participate in the races?
Anyone. All ages are welcome to participate.
I see that children under 5 are free. Do I need to register them?
Yes. Please register all children. For insurance purposes all participants must register and sign the waiver. Children under 5 do not receive a shirt with registration. You may purchase a children’s Tek shirt for $10.
How long is the Kids’ Fun Run?
Approximately a 1/2 mile.
When do I receive my race t-shirt?
You can pick up your Survivor Made Race Tek Shirt and runner bag at Packet Pick-up on Friday, September 23, 2016 between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or on Race Day beginning at 6:45 a.m.
Is the course wheelchair accessible?
The main course is not wheelchair accessible, but we have created a detour. Please see Wheelchair Detour Map.
I have registered for the race. What do I do next?
It’s time to invite your friends to join you at The Race to End Human Trafficking and start fundraising. We also encourage you to share on social media. Although 3Strands Global does not require our runners to fundraise, we do encourage it. The more funds we raise, the more we can give back to our 2016 beneficiaries in the fight against human trafficking. Visit our Fundraising Page.
RACE DAY FAQs
Will the race be cancelled if it rains?
No. The 7th Annual 3Strands Global Break Free Run Folsom will go on, rain or shine.
Is the race timed?
Yes. Timing will be provided by A Change of Pace. A Change of Pace will use a disposable chip timing system which is a cutting edge system produced by RFID Timing of Australia.
Will I receive a timing chip?
Yes. Your timing chip will be attached to the back of your bib so handle it with care. The chip is disposable and does NOT need to be returned.
Will times be posted?
Yes, times will be posted on our website following the race. You can also get your time on the computers at the race site near the finish line.
Are there awards/prizes?
Yes! 3Strands Global offers prizes to the largest team (in terms of members), largest fundraiser and the largest fundraising team (in terms of funds raised).
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! We can always use volunteers. Please visit our volunteer page.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, no. We love our pets. However, for the safety of our furry friends and for insurance purposes, we are unable to have dogs on our race courses.
Where will First Aid be located?
First Aid will be located at the Start/Finish line and on the course. Please see the runner instructions in your runner bag for the specific locations on the course.
Are bikes and scooters allowed?
No. For safety reasons, all bikes, scooters, skateboards, skates, etc. will not be allowed on race course. Only strollers and jogging strollers will be allowed on the course with runners and walkers.
Can I use a stroller?
Yes. Jogging and regular strollers are allowed on the course. It is required that you register each child in the stroller. There is no fee for children under 5 years old.
Can you walk the 10K?
Yes. You can walk the 10K, but there is a 2-hour time limit.
How do I create and share a personal URL for my fundraising page?
When you register, a personal participant page is automatically created for you. At that time a URL is also created.
How can I be a sponsor of this event?

Do you have any fundraising tips?
Yes. Here are 5 Easy Ways to Fundraise:
- Create a fundraising page. You will be given your own URL to send out to family, friends and supporters. You can personalize your page by adding a photo and a personal story of why you are helping with this cause. You will also be able to access template emails to send to your family and friends.
- Share and spread the word on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Download and print our fundraising letter to distribute to potential donors. It includes a quick and easy donation form for your supporters to fill out and return to us. We will add this to your personal fundraising totals.
- Check to see if your company has a matching program. If so, get signed up!
- Set a fundraising goal of $150 or more to get you started!
